I'm back, with another collab moc! This time it's a Plague Mech (or PLAGMEK), a concept developed by fellow Australian builder Jayfa.
Plague Mechs date back to 2017, with the loose concept of mechs based on bugs, and some sort of slightly evil, "plaguey" vibe. I think what a Plague Mech should look like changed a little bit over time, but most of them all feature a black mechanical frame, with some sort of coloured accent and a transparent or glowing highlight.
I went with aqua as my main accent just because I had a bunch of slopes in it that I'd been wanting to use (lol). I knew I wanted to do something sorta cute, so a weevil seemed like a natural choice. It ended up being a little less mech like than everyone elses, but I think I don't mind. By the way, did you know that a weevil's characterful elongated snout is called a rostrum? I thought it was a proboscis, but apparently that's different. I learned this while trying to name my little guy. cool bug fact :D
